WE HELP YOU GET THERE When a major oil company needed to connect 17 wells in the ultra-deep, pre-salt Mero oilfield off the coast of Brazil, they had a choice: use umbilical tubing encapsulated with thermoplastic tube, or go for Sandvik SAF 2507®, our well-proven super duplex seamless tube. Due to the harsh conditions, including depths of 2,000 meters, over 500 kilometers of Sandvik umbilical tubing was selected for the project. And with good reason. It’s more robust than thermoplastic, corrosion resistant and offers good structural reinforcement in smaller sizes, compared to thermoplastic tube.
